wherefore art thou, dugshop?

“Why dugshop?” I hear you ask. It started when I took an Amtrak across the US in 2006 with my friend Sarah, New York to Los Angeles via New Orleans. As one does when one is stuck in a 8’ x 6’ room for three days with a friend, when the sun went down and there was no scenery to view, we got to talking. How to get out of the rat race, how we had all these great, creative ideas that we wanted to turn into reality, what the first thing the world would need from us was soap, sweet soap. And so dugshop was born, named after my dearly missed dog-buddy, Doug, the lip-smackingly happy icon you’ll see on all our products.
Upon our return to Los Angeles, we settled in for researching, further discussion, and testing in the dugshop lab (i.e. the kitchen). While talking with our friends about the dugshop ideology, we’d find that they had similar cool ideas stagnating in their memory banks, or that they had special talents of their own. It is my hope that I can bring everyone together in a giant explosion of fun and coolness, and make dugshop’s customers part of our family.
And with Doug showing us the way, we at dugshop believe you should seize the day and embrace beauty and fun and life and love and kindness. So don’t just buy our soap to look at it. Our soap is meant to be used, it smells great (but don’t eat it!), it’s as organic and natural as we can get it, and yeah, it really works like reg’lar soap (but funner).
So, dugshoppers unite and CARPE SOAPEM!
